Lake Forest High School Makes an Impact

Thank you, Lake Forest High School Junior Class, for your generous donation of cereal to our Family Care Closet. Your kind contribution will make a significant impact on the individuals and families who are in need of food.

Food Insecurity in North Chicago

The USDA estimates that 7.3 million children in the U.S. lived in food-insecure households in 2022. To address food insecurity in North Chicago, NCCP's Family Care Closet allows families to "shop" two times per month for a variety of free, non-perishable food items and other essential items, such as personal hygiene products and household items, which cannot be purchased through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Newcomer Families in North Chicago

Since the beginning of the school year, North Chicago has welcomed 213 migrant students, representing more than 110 families, to the school district. That number is expected to increase to 250 students by the end of the school year. In order to support these new students, NCCP has expanded its programs and resources.
